OMG, that's here in Oz!! imagined it was somewhere in America, beyond reach and unattainable, but to know it's just a state away, makes it all the more painful to know I can't have it :(!! My dream home in all ways - the water, the surrounding trees, not to close and the Cape Cod ish style house!! O-M-G!! Thanks for sharing:)
Gosh, how gorgeous is that!!! Talk about location, location! I am dying to take a little trip to Bowral.... It always seems to feature in magazines and appears to have cute little shops waiting for me to explore! Have a great week. ;-)
A-M - I was realestalking (I love your word!) the very same property yesterday. It's so so beautiful. My lovely mum is coming to live with us in the next year or so, so have been madly looking for somewhere big enough to accomodate us all. Wouldn't it be lovely. Sadly, rather out of my pricerange :) I can but dream! Jenx
Thank you so much for featuring me on your blog roll, I may never have found you if you didn't! I know what I am going to be doing all night...catching up on all that I have missed from you. Best wishes!! xo
Isn't it stunning. I am always checking out the properties for sale in Bowral for inspiration. Hubby and I have a long term plan to move to a property in the hills. (We're in Adelaide.) We keep searching for that perfect acre or there abouts on which we can build our dream home. Of course, it won't be quite to this scale (actually, no where near) but it certainly does inspire us to follow our dream.
The southern highlands is my treescape dream. I used to live in Sydney and weekend drives to Bowral and Berrima were gorgeous! Thanks for sharing A-M :)
I grew up in Bowral ,every year we go back to visit family usually twice a year. It has been 16 years since we moved to Qld & every time I go back I find the beauty of it overwhelming at times & imagine living there again. I miss the cold climate gardens, great food , and beautiful homes terribly but not enough to endure the cold cold winters there , I had lung problems the last few years I was there simply from the cold (which totally went after moving to sunny Qld) .Funnily life is more relaxed here. So I Enjoy every moment when we visit & I appreciate it more. If we won the " big "lotto we would love to have a country holiday home in the southern highlands, that would be the ideal life ! Karen x
This house was featured in House and Garden in July 2008, one of my all time favourite houses! That's awesome that there are now more photos floating around!
Oh yes, it sure looks like it Viera! I remember your post now! ... all from different angles! The current real estate interior shots don't do it justice like the magazine shots did! A-M xx
I know this house! When we lived in NSW we nearly bought 2 acres just near it. It is heaven! Bowral is a divine piece of country. Everything about that place is beautiful. Ness xx
My daughter just saw the picture of that gorgeous home and said "I would like to live there Mum" Oh I (we) really have been comtemplating selling up and moving to the country. Mimi x
I recognise that house! I have the pages from when it was featured in 'House & Garden' (July 08) in my file of 'inspiration and ideas' for my "Dream House". The floorplan is fabulous, too (was just in the original magazine, and not on the House & Garden web-site - but this is still worth checking out, as there are so many more beautiful images there) ...Each bedroom even has its own bathroom - a couple tucked beatifully into the eaves - sigh! There are also window seats!! Perfection. xx
This is where I muse about home design, interiors, my life, my boys and stuff that sort of stops my heart. I have an online store full of my favourite Hamptons style lighting over at www.capecoddesigns.com.au ... and ... I'm currently planning my next house build.
