It's raining, it's Sunday... just done my blog rounds. Head on over to see Brooke and Steve's latest masterpiece. There is nothing that those two do that doesn't stop my heart. Sigh!

PS. I think I might do that with my old violins next time... instead of hanging them on the wall. Thanks Brooke/Steve!

Their work is stunning, with that 'oh, I just threw it all together and look how great it turned out' kind of feel to it - which of course is so hard to achieve! Gorgeous. K xx
ReplyDeletewhat a great display. love the colours used too. Kate :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly organized shelving display - love it!! When we eventually get out built ins on either side of our fireplace, I'll have to come back to this image. Love the violin this way too. Hope your weekend has been lovely so far A-M xx
ReplyDeleteThey are very talented..Did you see their children's study space? Just amazing..Rachaelxx
ReplyDeletehey are a brilliant pair aren't they! jxx
ReplyDeleteI am loving the house they are doing right now.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, calm and clean.
ReplyDeleteBlog rounds - did you coin that term, as in, "And how are we today?"!
ReplyDeleteI gave my grandfather's old fiddle to my niece. Maybe that was a mistake: but then again Brooke makes all sorts of things look good~
I have never visited that Blog, thanks for highlighting. I love finding new and inspirational blogs. Its like finding a new book to read that you know your going to love.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea for your Violins but I have to say regardless I think they look amazing hanging on the wall. I think Violins need breathing room but that just me. I would never be able to fit our decorative double bass in a shelving unit.;)
Oh I really love that bookcase arrangement..and yes..your violin would look awesome displayed like that AM...hope you are having a fab weekend x
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the posting by Velvet and Linen on "Adding your unique personality to your Home." I wonder how many people actually copy a "style" because they love "the look" ~ but it is so unrepresentative of their personality? Useful point to remember. ;)Sharyne
ReplyDeleteI love the way everything is put together and displayed BUT it raised a question in my mind. Isn't it a little sad to pay someone to go out and buy all those bits for you, just to fill the shelving? I feel the objects that we display in our home should reflect us and be bought by us over time - it's the equivalent of a bird feathering their nest. (I know they already had a few pieces). If a guest picks up a 'red gear mold' and asks what it is and about its significance, you're going to have to explain how it got there and I'd be a little embarrassed by the answer ...'I have no idea, most of it was chosen for me because it looks nice with the other stuff'. To me, it just seemed a step to far in interior design.
ReplyDeleteAll that being said the pieces collected do look great together - they obviously have an eye for colour, shape and form.
And...yes there's more ....I love the room but if you look at the ceilings, furniture, windows (right hand wall) and fire surround in the finished room, there are significant differences in the finished version/s that aren't explained at all: plain ceiling / panelled ceiling, windows / no windows etc. I'm confused.
Have I just woken up too early and I'm a trifle grumpy / my brain is not in gear yet?
What a great display, so good style.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a violin, I'd totally do that too. Of course I would.
ReplyDeleteMessy shelves are the devil's work. How heavy is this rain??? I will get soaked getting to ye olde coalface x
ReplyDeleteThese really remind me of the helver Lyn and I built, though mine are filled with all my art materials and books. Theire bits and pieces are lovely :)
