The predicted levels tomorrow will guarantee that we will go under. Please make them be wrong.
Our beautiful town is making the world news. People are being rescued from their roofs. All we can do is wait.
My boys are fretting over their lizards. Poor things. They are in a little enclosure on a stand. If we only get a metre through our place, they will be ok. They are more important than "the chair". Funny how your priorities change. I am even cherishing the belongings I have with me.... my familiar clothes, the boys toys. Sigh.
And the great irony.... it's beautiful and sunny here at the moment, while the river rises. It's not about what is falling from the sky. The 8 metre wall of water from Toowoomba is coming our way, 2 Sydney harbours worth of water is being released from the dams each day, king tides... they will come despite the sunshine.
"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming".
Back soon.

Thinking of you and all down there! You are brave and you'll make it through, hopefully miraculously you will keep your place!
ReplyDeleteI know, the y are just things, but you need and love them....
Good Karma!!!
xoxo Victoria

ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you and all Queenslanders ,it is unimaginable and frightening to watch on the news from Melbourne. Take care and we will all do what we can in our very limited way.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awful waiting game for you all - as you say 'the chair' (much as I love it too) can be replaced - you have everything you need right there safe but it doesn't make it much easier. Heavens A-M you need some good luck... we'll pray for some. A x
ReplyDeleteOh my, the lizards aren't with you? Poor lizards and your poor boys! I must say I have been trying not to think of all the poor animals. I hope the little guys (sorry, girls) are ok x
ReplyDeleteI am praying that somehow you will not be hurt any more than you have been by the flooding ... please take care of yourself and the boys.
ReplyDeleteA-M my heart is breaking for you all. I truly hope and pray your belongings will be okay.

ReplyDeletebe safe A-M, and yes is very unnerving that Sunshine today, almost the calm before the storm. I have a very sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, or storage container for the markets is at Portside Wharf and I hope for dear life that it is not seen floating down the Brisbane river tomorrow.... fingers crossed! Maybe the boys lizards could hitch a ride on top of it if things go pear shaped!
ReplyDeleteRachael
It is quite unbelievable and I feel so sorry for you. I hope that your belongings stay safe, especially the lizards. I guess it is just a frustrating waiting game... ;-)

There are lots of fundraising auctions going on, we're trying to help, from rainy Canberra, in any small way we can!! Love Posie

As though you don't have enough on your plate already A-M!! I hope the water magically subsides some, but living on the water, I know how scary and dangerous rising rivers and extreme tides can be! Keeping you, the boys, and the lizards in my thoughts!

My thoughts are with you and your boys too A-M, Stay Safe and take Care, Robyn
